Jobs created at SnOasis will be "low paid with basic skill requirements" according to MSDC consultants DTZ Pieda.

The SnOasis developers have consistently bandied figures of up to 3000 new jobs being created at the SnOasis complex. This is are another of the myths that are used to cast the scheme in a positive light and we seriously question these claims. Mid Suffolk District Council’s own business report commissioned from consultants, DTZ Pieda, (click here) gives some very different figures.

In it the consultants give an estimate of only 1154 jobs being created – still worthwhile of course but only about one third of the headline figures in the press. The consultants note Jobs in the tourism/entertainment sector are traditionally low paid with basic skill requirements.” This should not be surprising news to anyone but an astonishing 83% of these jobs are categorized by DTZ as being junior or seasonal jobs. This means that the overwhelming majority of jobs being created at SnOasis will be minimum wage, low skill temporary jobs.

Listed below is  a table derived form the DTZ report showing the number and grades of jobs expected to be created at SnOasis.
