A Public Inquiry is your chance to either stop or significantly alter the SnOasis proposals - but we need your help and money to do that. You can help in 3 ways:
- Register on our website and receive regular news updates
- Make your views known - urgently write to the Planning Inspector or speak at the Public Inquiry - see below
- Make a donation - see below
Make your views known to the Public Inquiry before the deadline on 15th January 2007. Because the SnOasis developments fall outside the Council's own local plan, the development proposals had to be referred to the Secretary of State, Ruth Kelly, who has decided that SnOasis and the related housing and railway station applications will be 'called in" for an Inspector to hold a Public Inquiry. This Inquiry is scheduled for 24th January 2007 and is expected to last for about 5 weeks.
The Planning Inspector will look at the applications with fresh eyes and effectively the whole planning process starts anew. What matters now is that the Inspector hears about your concerns. You can write to the Planning Inspector and / or appear at the Inquiry in person. Please note that if you have previously written GO East your letter will NOT be passed on to the Planning Inspector and you need to write again.
We need to get as many people writing to the Inspector as possible, so please write in to the address below. These letters should be in your own words and express your concerns but you can download a Word document from this page that contains some bullet points that you may find useful in constructing your letter.
We appreciate that this is a burden given that you may already have written to Go East, especially as they require 4 copies of your letter . However, getting a Public Inquiry shows that your letters really counted and that the next step is to influence the Inspector to turn down the SnOasis applications.
Remember - you can also speak at the Public Inquiry - it is vital that the Inspector hears as many local views as possible. To book a speaking slot, please contact us on speak@snoasisconcern.com
All written submissions or requests to speak must be received by the Program Officer, Simon Osborn, by 15th January. If you wish to write to the Inspector, please send 4 copies to:
John Gray, Inspector C/o Program Officer Simon Osborn Mid Suffolk District Council Offices High Street Needham Market IP6 8DL
Please mark your letter as confidential and quote the SnOasis planning application references: APP/W35230/V/06/ 1100516, 1199545 and 1199546 |

Please make a donation. We need to fight our case at the Public Inquiry and win. That will take a lot of money to hire a first class legal team, planning experts and professionals. The developer has stated that he will spend "about a million pounds" to put his case to the Inquiry, so if you are concerned about SnOasis please help us build a fighting fund by donating money. Either e-mail us with pledges of donations to support@snoasisconcern.com or send cheques made payable to SnoasisConcern Ltd to:
Graham Brand Treasurer, sNOasisConcern Hackneys Corner House Gt. Blakenham Ipswich IP6 0LG
Your donation, large or small, will be acknowleged with a receipt if required and most appreciated.
